Mohs Surgery Christchurch⎮Mohs & Skin Cancer
Mohs micrographic surgery is a highly specialised technique that allows 100% of the deep and peripheral margin to be examined on the same day as the surgery. In conventional excision with vertical paraffin sections, only around 1% of the peripheral and deep margin is examined. This results in Mohs surgery producing the highest cure rates along with maximum preservation of uninvolved tissue. it is therefore the treatment of choice for basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas on the head and neck.
