Dr. Emma Trowbridge Dermatology Associate
We are delighted to welcome Dr Emma Trowbridge (Dermatology Associate) MBCHB, BSc to our practice. Her expertise in skin cancer diagnosis will be a valuable addition to our busy clinic. She achieved a distinction in her Advanced Dermoscopy Certificate via the Skin Cancer College Australia (SCCA) and is an accredited skin cancer doctor with them.
Emma graduated from Auckland Medical School in 2008, completing her final year with distinction. Since 2014 she has worked exclusively in dermatology at Christchurch Public Hospital and developed special interests in skin cancer and acne.
From 2018-2020 she was appointed Senior Lecturer in Dermatology with the Otago School of Medicine. Emma has also been fortunate to volunteer in Kiribati with the Pacific Leprosy Foundation, to provide dermatology support to their medical team.
Emma has over 5 years experience working exclusively in dermatology in Christchurch Hospital. In 2018 she addressed the unmet need of a dedicated skin cancer detection clinic for high risk patients, by establishing a dermoscopy clinic for solid organ transplant patients at Christchurch Hospital. This offered rapid assessment, diagnosis and management of skin cancers for this high risk population. Emma takes a holistic approach to skin cancer management encompassing prevention, diagnosis and curative treatment (medical and surgical).
